The Kindness of God

Ephesians 4:32 NLT

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

I am continuously blown away in discovering how much God loves a girl like me (and a people like us). I’m not perfect. Everyday I’m starting to love the woman I see in the mirror, more and more, but there are still days where the first thought that comes to mind about myself isn’t a positive one - but, I trust that I am enough to God, and, that all I am is all I need to complete my purpose.

I made plenty of mistakes just like most of us, some of which still bring me to tears - but, each and everyday I’m discovering that I’m truly and deeply loved anyway.

I sometimes feel lonely, inadequate, and misunderstood - but, I get gentle reminders that Jesus hears me, sees me, and chooses me in spite of my deficiencies.

I hope this week we all take some time to reflect on the kindness of God. I know that depending on the season you’re in, this may be hard to do - but try if you can. Honestly, pause and reflect on God’s mercy, grace, and love. The times God met you at your worst, the times He protected you, the times you knew He heard you, the times You felt encouraged by Him to keep going, or even the fact that He valued you enough to send Jesus for a chance at a relationship with you. The kindness of God is truly unmatched and inspires me daily to go out and live a life of kindness to others.

Prayer:

Jesus thank You for loving someone like me. Thank You for meeting me in my mess and calling me towards Your beautiful plans for my life. I ask that You continue to open my eyes to see and understand Your kindness and help me to spill it over to those I encounter. In Jesus name, Amen.
