Find Your Footing

Writer's picture: Kaela SKaela S

1 Peter 5:7 (AMP)
casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].

Oftentimes when you’re thrusted into a new environment, there may be a period where you feel uncomfortable and feel as though you don’t quite have it together. “Am I the right one for the job?’’ “I can’t juggle all of this.” “I’m not sure how much longer I can keep this up.” - all thoughts that we may think when we feel “unsteady” and “off-balance”.

If you are currently feeling this way, I pray that you find your footing. That you become rooted in love and peace, right where you are. And that you actually use this time to ensure that God is your foundation.

I’m learning in life to expect the unexpected more than the outcome of certainty. I’m learning to catch my breath and focus on what actually matters in every season. I can keep my eyes on everything spinning around me or find balance by looking at the One who remains steady throughout the test of time.

Prioritizing prayer and finding slivers of time to pause and just breathe have given me more stability than worrying. During my time in prayer, I tell God what’s on my heart, including what feels like too much, and ask Him to carry the weight because that’s what Scripture tells us to do. I am completely aware of my shortcomings and although it can sometimes trigger insecurities, I am learning to actually find peace in knowing that that’s the space where God shows up.

So lean into God and trust that He’s with you and will guide you through this life. Find peace in Jesus and make room for joy right where you are, instead of waiting for it to come whenever you arrive at a specific destination.

I pray that we remember to give our worries to God and trade our stress for His stability. I pray that all of us find our footing in whatever circumstance we may find ourselves in and allow God to be our steady foundation.
